What to expect at our yoga class…

I am looking forward to being your guide on this journey to learn yoga.

I teach Hatha yoga, which means I will incorporate breathing techniques, yoga poses, and meditation in our class.

My hope is to teach you why people love yoga, what yoga really is… Yoga is so much more than just poses. It is the process of learning about your body on a deeper level, getting to know your limits, and then learning how to push past them.

I move at a pace that is based on how you are feeling & what your ability is, at that moment in time.

Your class will be small, 2-4 people max. This allows me to give you personalized direction with easy & clear instructions. I’ll explain what we are doing & why we do it. You will get to know your own body as it is now, and move further towards your ultimate goals. I encourage you to share and ask questions during each session. This allows me to get to know you better, and for you to know me.

What to expect:

The classes are only 45-60 minutes long. (Most yoga classes are 75 minutes).

Each class we start with a 5-10 minute lesson on what yoga is, why we do the poses, what are the benefits, and other yoga related topics so you are able to understand what you are doing and why you do them.

I share easy breathing techniques that help promote relaxation while strengthening your lungs.

We will practice gentle yoga poses for 30-45 minutes (depends on your level as not everyone can start a 45 min practice.)

Class includes deep relaxation & guided meditation. Using Reiki a Japanese stress relief technique which helps ignite the body’s natural healing system.

If the class permits, I use essential oil room sprays, and organic essential oil aromatherapy, along with calming and inspiring scents of incense.

What you will need for class:

Please wear comfortable clothing, whatever that is for you.

The room is kept at a comfortable temperature (around 75degrees). As we are exercising you will generate some heat. I do have a fan that we can turn on if the class prefers. Perhaps it will be comfortable for you to dress in layers, and if your feet get cold, please bring socks.

I welcome to you bring a mat, blanket, and anything that provides you comfort. However, you do not need to bring anything, as I provide you with everything you need.

Most yoga studios have an Etiquette they ask you follow. I want you to feel completely comfortable & do not expect you to know yoga etiquette yet, just come prepared to relax.  (I will teach you what most studios expect during one of our classes.)

I am truly honored & excited to share this class with you!

I work very hard to help people understand that yoga can be challenging in the beginning & it is ok to start small & build. I encourage every yogi to work with their own body, and stay in the moment on your own path to establish a journey that works with your lifestyle, to be and build a love for yoga, and to be Inspired By Life.

If you have any questions please feel free to contact me.
